No date. [circa 1882 from publisher's list data]. Pp (6),[7]-159,(1),[1]-[16] publisher's list. With frontispiece and illustrations in the text. Small 8vo, blue cloth, decorated in gilt & black.

A novel for young persons. "Lyntonville was the name of a large old-fashioned log-house which stood embosomed amongst the tall trees of a Canadian forest, where sombre balsams and hacmatacs mingled their dark foliage with the silvery birch and maple." - Chapter I.

Vg, handsome & tight copy with a Dec 25th, 1885 acquisition note.

Pp 74-114 comprise a play within the larger story, The Fairy: A Comodietta, in two acts set in a New England village.

Cloth rubbed, wear to extremities, dampstaining & foxing throughout, pencilling to endpapers, else very good with solid binding & a reasonably bright spine.
